Airplane Flight Instructor Practice Test

To act as pilot in command of a tailwheel airplane, it is essential for a pilot to obtain an endorsement from a flight instructor. This endorsement indicates that the pilot has received the necessary training specific to tailwheel operations, which can be substantially different from flying tricycle landing gear aircraft. The instructor assesses the pilot's proficiency in handling the unique characteristics of tailwheel airplanes, such as their tendency to ground loop and the different landing techniques required.

This endorsement is valid and recognized under FAA regulations, ensuring that the pilot has met the experience and knowledge requirements for safely operating this type of aircraft. Such an endorsement not only promotes safety but also helps ensure that pilots are adequately trained to manage the nuances involved in flying tailwheel airplanes.
